Beginner Soft Pastel

$36

with Tara Finlay

Calendar Oct 10, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 2 weeks

In this two-night gentle introduction to soft pastel, we'll work with a student grade set (that you get to take home!) to produce an impressionistic landscape using a photo reference from the instructor. You'll learn how to block in values and apply the pastels. Then in the second class, you'll learn a super-quick underpainting technique to bring richness and vibrancy to your work. We'll do an impressionist floral design using the student pastels but you will get to try out several brands of professional pastels so you can experience them before you invest in a set yourself. Materials fee: $15 payable to instructor night of first class.
