Paralegalism is one of the fastest growing careers in the country with an annual average salary of $44,480 (more if you freelance). Learn to interview witnesses, investigate complex fact patterns, research the law, prepare legal documents, and assist in preparing cases for courtroom litigation. The instruction is practice-oriented, specific to those areas of law in which paralegals are in demand.  Books: $521


Become a Volunteer Driver

As one of the oldest states in the nation, Maine's aging residents are struggling to find transportation to vital appointments.  York County Community Action offers Volunteer Driver services to residents who have no other means of transportation.  If you've got extra time, a good reliable vehicle and a desire to help your community, come join us for this informational session on what it takes to become a Volunteer Driver for your community.  It's a very rewarding experience and we offer mileage reimbursement to offset the cost of gas.

ASL American Sign Language II

This class will be held onsite only.

ASL Two is a continuation of ASL One. You will learn more vocabulary in sentence structure for travel, animals, home environment, and school environment to name a few. Not required but an ASL dictionary is helpful. All vocabulary and assignment/activity will be handed out each class.

The Mountain Dulcimer (also known as the Appaliachian or Lap Dulcimer) is easy to play! It only has 3-4 strings and you can play either chords or melodies. Come learn to play & sing folk songs, Celtic tunes, and hymns. Songs will be in DAA tuning. We will learn chords, strumming, and how to tune your instrument. Explore playing with noter and drones as well as how to make your own picks or play harmonies with one finger. Music, picks, and noters provided. Please bring a 3 or 4 string mountain dulcimer, music stand, and tuner. (Please note: class does not teach Hammered Dulcimer.) Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar but simply find it difficult to find the time?  In just a few hours you’ll learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment. Learn basic chords and get playing along with your favorite songs right away. Via ZOOM, you’ll be able to sit at home with your guitar and enjoy this class with no pressure at all. Class includes an online book and follow-up video lessons, so you’ll be able to continue your practice and study on your own. An optional periodic online question and answer session is also included. A recording of the class is included as well. Class limited to 15 students. For ages 13+. Discover:  how chords work in a song, how to form the three main types of chords, how to tune your guitar, basic strumming patterns, how to buy a good guitar (things to avoid), and how to play along with simple tunes.
