I will be exploring the basics of drawing, including but not limited to shading, form, volume, depth, composition, and perspective. Hop on to participate, or just to watch! Our session will begin with an introduction to and demonstration of traditional watercolor techniques. Subsequent weeks will include composition, the use of color and value to create form in a still life and depth in a landscape. Class will be modified to accommodate students of all levels and is appropriate for true beginners and artists who have taken previous classes.

Beginners who are doing watercolor for the first time can get by with a good quality half pan set. Intermediate students are okay with student grade paints. I use Winsor & Newton tube watercolors.All you need is red, yellow and blue so don’t worry about getting the colors listed below if you have different ones already. Make your own two piece pour over coffee system out of clay!  We will use stencils to build a mug and pour-over-unit out of slabs of clay.  You can decorate your coffee maker with colored under-glaze and textures.  Materials fee of $12 (cash please) payable to the instructor.

Create Dry Needle Felted Critters

Knitting Basics

Ideal for beginning knitters or those who'd like to refresh their skills after a long absence. Casting on, ending a project and learning how to repair mistakes will be covered, as well as mastery of the basic knit and purl stitches, which are the foundation of all knitting. All levels of ability are welcome! Bring size 7 knitting needles, 1 Supersaver Red heart yarn (7 ounces) -a light color, 1 small pair of scissors and a tape measure. First session would be slippers or mittens.
