Gain insights into your data using business intelligence software – Power Business Intelligence. Power BI is a widely used business analytics service offered by Microsoft. Power BI Desktop is a complete data analysis and report creation tool that you install for free. Discover the process of creating interactive reports. Integrate financial, marketing, or any other source data in your accounting system, Excel, or on the Web. Streamline the data to what is needed using Power Query. Create charts, maps, and other visuals to see your data in real-time. Delve further into Power Query to ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) your data. Build the Data Model using relationships and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions). Utilize Time Intelligence functions to view YoY or YTD reports. Structured Query Language (SQL) is the industry standard database programming language. It is one of the most in-demand skills in occupations that require interaction with data and analyzing data. Through your knowledge of Structured Query Language, you will become more marketable in computer-related career fields that pertain to database administration. Learning SQL can also lead to a job that is specific to analyzing data such as a data analyst, a quality assurance analyst, or a business analyst.   You’ll first learn about relational database structures, the history and uses of Structured Query Language, and how to use Structured Query Language to create a database, add records to database tables, and to use SQL queries to extract meaningful data from database tables.  You will quickly progress from creating simple SQL queries that query a single table to querying multiple tables simultaneously. You’ll also learn how to alter data in a database and how to gather significant statistics from data stored in a database. Finally, you'll learn techniques that will enable you to write powerful queries that perform complicated searches and sorts on your data. This certificate will enhance your competitiveness in the field of database administration and data analyst jobs.

Grab your steps-counting app on your phone, or your watch and spend a few evenings weekly walking indoors with us at Willard School.  SCAE has two floors, so you'll be able to get a good stretch along the hallways, and also add in some stairs!  Don't let the darkness of autumn, or winter keep you from getting your steps in!  Just stop in at the office for signing in (and out!).  You can even keep track of your steps on our sign in form.  We're looking forward to seeing you.

These advanced topics build upon the nationally acclaimed Paralegal Certificate Course© offered by over 100 colleges and universities nationwide. This exciting program prepares medical professionals for a career in the legal field as legal nurse consultants. Building on your medical education and possible clinical experience, this course provides nurses with the fundamental skills necessary to advise law firms, health care providers, insurance companies, and governmental agencies regarding medically related issues and to appear in court as expert witnesses. The course teaches legal concepts related to the healthcare industry, as well as the role a legal nurse consultant might play in litigation areas such as medical malpractice, toxic torts, product liability, personal injury, wrongful death, criminal law, and workers’ compensation. Any nurse interested in entering the legal field can benefit from the education provided by this course. The course is also open to anyone interested in the field of forensic testimony and medical-legal issues, but participants without a nursing background might not be able to take the LNCC exam after graduation. Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC) is a discretionary test separate from this training course that experienced registered nurses graduating from this course may decide to sit for. LNCC test eligibility requirements are discussed during this training course; however, nurses graduating from this course need not take the LNCC to practice as legal nurse consultants.

This nurse continuing professional development activity was approved by the Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approved by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 

Successful graduates will receive a certificate for 42 contact hours of nursing continuing professional development from CLS by Barbri that they may be able to use to fulfill continuing education requirements.

Classes are held once a week for 2 hours via Zoom and are recorded. You may choose to attend the course Live via Zoom or Self-paced by watching the recorded classes; both program options have instructor support. You will learn HIPAA compliance and health information in the medical office, insurance and billing procedures, financial and practice management, and administrative duties. In addition, we take you through the “virtual medical office” which allows you to practice “real” medical office skills before entering the workforce.
