Power BI Desktop is a complete data analysis and report creation tool that you install for free. Discover the process of creating interactive reports. Integrate financial, marketing, or any other source data in your accounting system, Excel, or on the Web. Streamline the data to what is needed using Power Query. Create charts, maps, and other visuals to see your data in real-time. Delve further into Power Query to ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) your data. Structured Query Language (SQL) is the industry standard database programming language. It is one of the most in-demand skills in occupations that require interaction with data and analyzing data. Through your knowledge of Structured Query Language, you will become more marketable in computer-related career fields that pertain to database administration. Learning SQL can also lead to a job that is specific to analyzing data such as a data analyst, a quality assurance analyst, or a business analyst.   You’ll first learn about relational database structures, the history and uses of Structured Query Language, and how to use Structured Query Language to create a database, add records to database tables, and to use SQL queries to extract meaningful data from database tables.  You will quickly progress from creating simple SQL queries that query a single table to querying multiple tables simultaneously. You’ll also learn how to alter data in a database and how to gather significant statistics from data stored in a database. Finally, you'll learn techniques that will enable you to write powerful queries that perform complicated searches and sorts on your data. THIS CLASS IS FOR MAINE RESIDENTS ONLY

Our community needs individuals who want to make a difference in a child's life.

Maine Children with intellectual challenges, autism, and mental health disorders, as well as their families, depend on Children's Behavioral Health Services, and there is a huge need in our area!  A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) is an essential member of a child's treatment team and has the chance to have an instant influence while assisting children in reaching their full potential.

We are thrilled to provide this fantastic Blended training to our community.  You will be equipped to work with children who need services, while preparing yourself for employment with local social service agencies and/or school programs.  Start whenever you choose, and go at your own pace.  You have 6 months from your registration day to complete the course.

You will complete 12 online modules, then participate in two Live sessions:  BHP Live Day (8 - 9 hours offered in-person or virtually) and Ethical Considerations (2.5 hours offered virtually).  You will also receive a stipend to obtain Child & Adult First Aid/CPR Certification and free online training in blood-borne pathogens.  Our free remote training program can get you certified and started in a career that will change your life in just 40 hours.

Required:  Must be a Maine resident and at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent to become certified.  The state also requires that you take an in-person cpr/first aid class.  The cost of up to $100 will be reimbursed once you have completed the American Red Cross or American Heart Saver Course.  Woodfords CPR/FA classes in Westbrook, Manchester and Brewer are free for all workforce learners.

Jeffrey Carpenter, Workforce Recruitment Specialist for the State of Maine's Office of Child and Family Services through Woodfords Family Services, is here to help you through the learning opportunity by providing answers to questions and assistance with technical issues, should any arise.  He is also a resource to connect you with service agencies once you have completed the training.

After signing up for the class, you'll receive a packet to fill out and send directly to American Medical Professionals.  Once you have completed the paperwork and the requested information, the Academy of Medical Professionals will contact you to complete your registration process.

Classes are held once a week for 2 hours via Zoom and are recorded. You may choose to attend the course Live via Zoom or Self-paced by watching the recorded classes; both program options have instructor support. You will learn HIPAA compliance and health information in the medical office, insurance and billing procedures, financial and practice management, and administrative duties. In addition, we take you through the “virtual medical office” which allows you to practice “real” medical office skills before entering the workforce.

$3,200 includes National Certification, all books, fees, and resume and job assistance.

Games are increasingly recognized as a tool that can serve many business purposes beyond entertainment. This Certificate provides you with a general introduction to what goes into the design and development of both video and analog games, with a particular focus on the use of games outside of consumer entertainment.  In the first course, you will discover resources for developing game design, identify the mechanics and verbs used in different games.
