Finding Your Inner Calm in a Time of Chaos!

This class is designed to "flip" from onsite to remote, should we need to close our buildings.

So many things are "out of our control" these days.  It can be a challenge to remain centered and under "self" control at times.  Join us on a journey to mindfulness.  Judge less.  Notice what draws your attention and intention.  We'll practice calming breathing techniques and relaxing guided imagery.  Cultivate a deep stillness and quiet your mind with positive affirmations.  improve sleep and relationships.  Reduce anger, anxiety and depression!

Excel Essentials

This class is designed to "flip" from onsite to remote, should we need to close our buildings.

This two week course is for those new to spreadsheets, or those who currently work in Excel who would like to know the tips, tricks and secrets of how to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Students will create several spreadsheets from the ground up, learning all the basics of building and editing spreadsheets as well as creating charts and graphs. Projects will be as follows: simple budget, price comparison and multi-sheet payroll. We'll by using Office 2010, but will discuss other versions of Office, as well as other free spreadsheet options. Choose session.

Seated Yoga & Creative Movement

This class is designed to "flip" from onsite to remote, should we need to close our buildings.

Join us for a mid-day stretch!  Learn stretches, yoga positions, tai chi exercises and deep breathing techniques to execute while seated in a chair or standing (with a chair for support if needed).  This is a great opportunity for seniors or anyone wanting to gently get back in shape and is perfect for anyone with physical limitations or chronic health challenges.  No class 4/19.

Bias and Brain Development: Session 1

This workshop will use Daniel Kahneman's theory of fast and slow thinking to explain how representation, societal structure, and brain development create a culture of biased thinking and behavior.

Anti-racism education builds resilience for everyone.  Evidence shows that systemic injustice has a negative effect not only on marginalized community members who are directly impacted, but on every community member, regardless of identity.  Studies support the idea that when communities take action to address racism, outcomes for every group improve.

This virtual workshop includes the following:

     Bias and Brain Development: Session 1 - $30

     Microaggressions, Reflecting on Harmful language:  Session 2 - $30

     A Racial History of Maine:  Session 3 - $30

Introduction to Beekeeping

Have you ever wanted to raise bees but you're not sure what is involved? Take this two-night class with Joe Barberi from EmeryFarmHoney.com. Joe is an experienced beekeeper and will give you an overview of what it takes to raise bees. He will go over the time commitment and financial considerations involved with this hobby. Joe will review the equipment necessary to establish your own hive, options for placements, seasonal management and tools needed. This class will last three hours both nights, with time allotted for questions and answers to determine if this is the hobby for you!
