One-on-one support of children (4-18/21 years of age) with intellectual/development delays and/or Autism in their home and within the community, usually after school until early evening hours and/or during the day on weekends etc. High-school diploma or equivalency is required to attend the 43-hour BHP training (includes CPR/first aid/AED/bloodborne pathogen training.) Most employees require a valid driver's license. In addition to course fee, there is a $17 fee payable to the instructor for a CPR card.

A 40-hour training: The CRMA utilizes safe and acceptable procedures in the administration of medications and treatments as assigned (directly or indirectly) by the Administrator and in accordance with Maine’s Regulations Governing the Licensing and Functioning of Assisted Housing Programs. CRMA’s are accountable for performing these functions in accordance with accepted standards. Candidates must bring proof of high-school diploma or equivalency.

This course has a prerequisite of high school diploma or equivalent and CASAS Reading and Math score of 236.

10 Week Certificate program in Dental Assisting for one of the most high-demand careers.  This program is designed to teach all aspects of dental assisting and provide you the skills you need to work in this field and pass two national certificate exams and earn CPR certification.  This program is taught by a Certified Dental Assistant certificant and includes an opportunity for internships.  The price of the course, $2400, includes all books, exam preparation materials and fees for the DANB RHS and ICE exams and CPR certificate programs.  Upon passing the DANB RHS or ICE exams, you will receive a certificate of knowledge on competency for that component from DANB.

Medical transcription is a desired field for most people trying to work at home.  Strong typing, computer and English grammar skills are essential. Medical terminology, formats, rules and regulations, jobs, calculation of pay, confidentiality, FTP,  tricks of the trade, all equipment, reference books, and course books are provided with the course fee.  Classes are once a week for 16-weeks with a completion of 16 weeks to 6 month options.  This is a State Certified Program and you will receive a Certificate of Completion and Letter of Recommendation upon graduation. Resumes and how to obtain a job are covered in this program.  Course includes medical terminology, Anatomy & Physiology and transcription. Course fee is $2400 which includes everything for the course and the field.  Payment plans are available.

Pharmacy Technician Certificate with PTCB national certification

Work one-on-one with a Pharmacy Technician Trainer and entirely online with support from a Pharmacy Technician and Trainer.  The Pharmacy Technician is one of the fastest growing jobs in health care today.  In this course, you will learn everything from the role of the technician in the pharmacy setting, to the basic sciences at the core of pharmacy practice, to preparing for the PTCB exam.  You will learn complete drug information that includes proper name, spelling and pronunciation, drug class, generic and trade name, route of administration, dosage, and more of hundreds of drugs.  You will be able to identify pills on sight with pill photos, gain a better understanding of how certain drugs work within the body with concise review of relevant anatomy and physiology, and stay up to date with cutting-edge pharmacy practice with the latest information on new drugs, regulations, HIPAA guidelines and safety procedures.  You will be ready to pass your PTCB nationals certification which is includes in the cost.  Cost of certificate is $1850 which includes all materials.  Payment plans are available.

If you are 18 or 80; you could still be asking this question! Take the “World of Work Inventory (WOWI)” it is an intensive online assessment (split into two components). Address your likes and dislikes, your abilities, your work styles, your potential to learn new skills and your ability to adapt. A report will be generated that aligns job sectors and careers to your current status as well as suggestions for further education that would lead to other career opportunities.  A FREE follow up appointment comes next to review the report with you and assist you with your next steps.
